Sam is a Porter, someone who delivers packages in a world wrought with what is known as the Stranding. The Stranding itself is an Extinction level event where anyone who dies and isn't incinerated becomes a "BT". If a BT manages to eat a living being it causes the equivalent of a nuclear blast. There's something about beaches, tar, repatriates, babies in pods, people who just keep on keeping on.... Everyone lives in bunkers and their only way of receiving supplies is via Porters who brave the outside to deliver. Sam is the son of the last President of America, Bridget, and is tasked with connecting America up via a Chiral Network. Oh and there's something about his sister Amelie being kidnapped by terrorists and held hostage on the West Coast. All completely normal, for sure. Spoilers: nothing is normal, everything is off the rails.

Sam is not the tallest, but he makes up for it with being broad shouldered and stocky. It's only natural when most of his work is physical and out in the open. He's usually seen sporting a short cut beard and hair is unceremoniously tied back out of the way when working. Sam's expression is normally one of someone who is tired and just getting on with shit.
